We programmed it, and it worked, but a few days later she told us it was inoperative.
At this point, all it does is "flash" when pointed at the TV, but it will not control the TV at all! I've taken the batteries out, tried to reprogram it, all to no avail. And I've done this more than once!
I bought one of those "All in Ones", (however, this one just controls the TV), and it seems to be working fine. Sorry to see others have also had trouble with the RCA unit.

I not only need a remote for the bedroom, I need one I can see! This is a sweet little remote. It is not the best, not the worst, but it is seeing some use in my house. It controls the tv just fine. I entered the code once and it has remained. As far as the DVD player, well, it lacks the fine controls, but it does cover the usual ones, as reported.
The backlighting is not the best. I would like to see all the buttons lit, but hey, you get what you pay for. I am getting pretty good at guessing.
If you want to completely get rid of your DVD remote, this one is not for you. But if you want an inexpensive second remote, this baby will do the trick.
