of 800 numbers to finally get to a
technical customer service person
that could even give an idea of why.
These remotes are not up to date
as far as the programming they contain
(codes) for TVs being sold TODAY.
I was given much incorrect info and finally
they told me that I have to just keep trying
different models until I find one that works!!
Yeah, right, like I have nothing better to do.
With all our great technology, Audiovox can't
even tell me which remote works with which TV?
This goes beyond lazy. It is unacceptable.
Vote with your dollars and then with your feet!

This is not a programmable remote, nor is it very sophisticated. It's value is primarily as a replacement for a broken or misplaced OEM remote. As such it has most of the bottons that an average person would need to control their TV. It can also be used to control such things as your stereo receiver, DVD and cable box. It won't permit you to set up a string of automatic commands (i.e. turn TV on, turn cable box on, turn receiver on), nor is it advertised to do so. But it can do each of those things individually, which means for many people they can use 1 remote instead of 4.
PROS: Buttons are relatively large and easy to find (although not lighted). Often used controls like channel and volume are well placed. My personal preference is for the numerical keyboard to be at the top and the device selector buttons to be at the bottom, but it's not a negative issue... Read more

Ok I don't want to sound like I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth since I got this product through the Vine program but...the fact is that this unit was produced in 2009. We all know how fast things change in electronics and in 3 years there have been hundreds of new TVs, and DVD & blu-ray players released. There was no code for my new Panasonic plasma TV or Sony blu-ray player to be found. So rather than try to mess with any sort of auto-programming that is time consuming, I am using it in one of the bedrooms that has an older flatscreen TV. it works fine with that TV as well as our ATT digital box. As far as that goes, it you have a code it works and was relatively easy to set up. But if you have new equipment produced within the last couple of years I would avoid this.
